Conidiophores <\/i> erect, simple, straight or flexuous, cylindrical, smooth-walled, hyaline except for broad, transverse brown or dark brown septa 40-100 \u00b5m. <i>Conidia<\/i> brown with 2 concentric rings paler than conidia in frontal view 9-12 \u00b5m in diameter, in lateral view irregularly triangular or polygonal 10-14 x 8-10 \u00b5m. <i>Cells<\/i> <i>sterile<\/i> smaller and paler than conidia, globose to ellipsoidal, containing large, hyaline, refracted granules.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span><br \/>\n<b>Asexual form<\/b> is not known.<br \/>\n<b>NOTES <\/b><br \/>\n<i>Arthrinium austriacum<\/i> is characterised by the concentric rings of its conidia seen in frontal view. These rings are also present in  <i>Ar. puccinioides <\/i>but this species has regularly polygonal (never rounded) conidia in frontal view.
